JOSE` CAMINA
Owner
Jose Camina attended the University of Virginia where he obtained a Bachelors of Architecture degree in 1968 and later did graduate work in Environmental Sciences and Regional Planning. He taught architecture at Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke, Virginia for two years prior to working for several years in architectural firms. He has been in residential design and construction management in Virginia and North Carolina for 38 years.
Mr. Camina
… has been a member of the Architectural Review Boards for private country clubs in Pinehurst; The National, Fairwoods on Seven, Pinewild Country Club and Forest Creek Golf Club. He has completed I, II and III of the North Carolina Home Builders Association Institute for Residential Builders and attended three passive solar workshops offered by the Institute. In 1978 he obtained a N. C. Real Estate Brokers License. Mr. Camina has been a long-standing member of The American Institute of Architects.
In addition to awards in Virginia, Mr. Camina has been awarded ten regional awards and 15 grand awards in the NCHBA Environmental Design Awards Program. In the 1981 solar design competition, Mr. Camina was one of ten state finalists and the award winner for Region 6. A passive solar residence designed and built by Mr. Camina was the recipient of the 1982 “Governor’s Showcase of Solar Homes” award.
Mr. Camina
… is the owner of Camina Design & Construction, Inc. which is licensed by the NC General Contractors. He specializes in a total design and building package for architecturally designed homes in the Pinehurst area and from the mountains to the coast of NC.
Included in Camina Design & Construction’s portfolio have been condos and single family custom homes built at Linville Ridge in the NC Mountains. He also built 45 plus custom homes on Bald Head Island, NC, including a 12 and 16 room Bed and Breakfast on the island from 1991 through 1999.
Since 2000
… Jose Camina’s company has designed and built 75 plus custom residences and cottages in Forest Creek Golf Club, as well as support facilities including the Men’s Locker Room, Pro Shop, Fitness Center and 40,000 square foot Clubhouse.
Also as part of the association with Forest Creek, Camina Design has constructed several cottages and all of the support facilities at Bright’s Creek Golf Club in Polk County, NC. These include a large horse barn, two 16,000 square foot condominium complexes, a 12 unit Inn and temporary clubhouse.
